Description

The second issue of FANSTUCK, parodying different fandoms of mine, in this case Bionicle, with titles from the webcomic Homestuck.

As with last time, these titles are all based on a mix of character personalities, established rules, and vast amounts of speculation. Just the way Hussie intended. That said, these are all my personal guesses as to what their titles are, and are in no way established canon on either end. And just for the hell of it, I’m gonna spend a minute explaining my choices.

Tahu: Most would have Tahu pegged as a ‘Knight’. I would see their point (obviously, since I just pointed it out), but I would still argue him a ‘Prince’, a destroyer. He doesn’t think “How do I defend the matoran?”. He thinks “What is threatening the matoran, and how do I kill it?”. And as for ‘Doom’, well, that’s usually what he ends up destroying.

Gali: Gali was lucky enough to choose from the bounty of all the female titles. I ended up landing on the ‘Sylph’ and ‘Heart’ combination, as she often tries to make sure the souls of her brothers are healthy and in unity, though she is met with mixed results.

Kopaka: Just by looking at that cold, calculating mask, you can tell that he is all about precision. If that doesn’t qualify for a Hero of Time, then I give up. As for ‘Heir’, It seemed the class to describe a lone wolf like him. At least, assuming I have the right idea about what an Heir does. In my mind, the Heir uses their aspect to protect themselves, though I derived this from the subtlest of hints.

Lewa: Obvious title is obvious.

Onua: Though not the quickest on-hands thinker, Onua is often canonly sited as the wisest of the bunch, if a little too quiet to share his wisdom with those who freakin need it. As for ‘Mage’, it was what I had left, and in combo with ‘Mind’, does good to describe the guy.

Pohatu: I may not be willing to give the title to Pinkie Pie, but I sure as hell give it to Pohatu. He seems to fit the ‘Space’ bill best, and as we all know, Space is an aspect one of your players better have. Why I went with ‘Bard’, it mostly comes from literal interpretation, as Pohatu has friends everywhere and shares news like it’s going out of fashion. If one looks at it from the perspective of what the title means, you could say this speed demon allows the destruction of distance.

Takanuva: His aspect, ‘Light’, is a no-brainer. ‘Page’ mostly describes how he was a Toa waiting to happen. Potential waiting to be realized. That is a Page as we currently understand it. Though, as are many of the creations of Andrew Hussie, the Page is an enigmatic and mysterious creature, never showing its true nature until Jack Noir is about to kill it.
